Worshipping with Local Believers

Today we finally got around to going to a local church in Bethlehem. Some of our American teachers had recommended it to us and we have really been trying, since the beginning of the school year, to go. Like, for real. We are just so busy and Sunday is such a great day for doing NOTHING.  Especially with our American church services being on Saturday nights.  But today was the day!

We picked up a friend and all rode together to the service. You would think by now I would be pretty used to different churches and all THAT entails....but I still get super nervous. And it's a whole different ball game when you throw your kids into the mix. Will they be accepted by other kids?  Will they be able to even understand what's going on in kids church?

So we go in, grab an earpiece for the English translation, and grab a seat. Worship starts up and the Spirit of God moves in and all those questions and fears I had earlier just melt away. God was in that place and that was all that mattered. For the first time in almost 5 months I heard passionate preaching and I felt conviction. Praise God I did not leave the same way that I came in. My kids even came back from kids church ASKING IF WE COULD PLEASE COME BACK NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!  Words cannot describe how faithful Jesus is to us.

So for now, we are happily serving with our American teachers on Saturday nights but eagerly anticipating being filled and poured into on Sunday mornings.

Y'all......God is, at times, quite unbelievable.
