1. Summer was....well, it was summer. Like every one before it went by way too fast. And we ate way too much and gained way too much weight. My doctor was not happy when I finally got in his office and jumped back on the scale. All I could say was "We were in America..." I think he understood the reason for the lack of self control.
2. School started. Yup. And like every year we started off with too few teachers. I thought I would have to go up and teach something at 36 weeks along. But alas, we recruited our butts off (not just us.....all the Americans) and some new teachers came out to take the load off of the veterans.
3. Zoe started 6th grade and Jessi started 4th. I honestly can't believe they are getting so grown. They seem to be doing well Zoe has a couple of friends in her class (praise God!) and Jessi is still the same little social butterfly that she has always been.
4. And then I had a baby. Amelia Rose. Beautiful little thing. My doctor thought she would be well over 4 kilos but she ended up being only 3.7. And that's a good thing since my epidural wore off and 8 cm to 10 cm was all natural childbirth. So far we are rocking right along. It has been a while since we had a newborn in the house and I'm remembering all those sleepless nights with the other 2. But so far so good.
5. Visa renewal. Woo hoo. The one day of the year we are forced to remember that God is in complete control of our future. We did receive our visas. We were told, repeatedly, that this is our last year and we must leave by next November. And that's really starting to sink in. I don't think we are ready to leave. So now the question is...."What do we want to be when we grow up?" Decisions, decisions....
6. And now the holidays are approaching. I can't believe we are at this time of year again. A lot has changed. A lot is the same. One thing remains constant....God is in control. He has us. He knows our future. He will lead us and guide us and direct us to where we are needed. This time though, I'm hoping He'll let us know more than a week before we are scheduled to leave the country.
